Frankencamera.  I love it!

If nothing else it will (should) wake up the big camera makers to smell some coffee.  Not the coffee they insist on shoving down our throats, but the coffee we want brewed.

This couldn’t be more exciting. I picture the camera sitting in a Matrix-like chair, downloading data, and sitting up and saying…”I know kung fu.”

Asking Nikon or Canon to do something is like talking to a brick wall.

I lived in Tokyo for several years and had a lot of interaction with the guys at Nikon. So let me tell you they don’t think like those of us in the West and they are on their own time line.

The oddest to us in the West is neither company will jump so far ahead as to cause the other to “lose face”. It’s just their philosophy.

Watch for more “fringe” manufacturers like RED to push the envelope.
